The Social Security Office has announced an adjustment to the wage ceiling used to calculate Social Security contributions for insured persons under Section 33, effective from January 1, 2026, with a three-phase step-up implementation as follows: Phase 1 (2026–2028)
Phase 2 (2029–2031)
Phase 3 (from 2032 onwards)
Raising the contribution ceiling will increase the benefit calculation base for insured persons, resulting in enhanced coverage and benefits in several cases, such as sickness, unemployment, maternity, and old-age pension benefits.
